Transportation
Our Transportation Department is responsible for the safe and efficient transport of students and district employees. Our bus drivers follow all state regulations regarding school bus operation and traffic laws. You can rest easy knowing that your child’s safety is our top priority.
Transportation Policies
In District
Students who live beyond the following minimum distances from their assigned schools are entitled to transportation:
- Elementary: 0.75 (3/4) mile
- Middle Schools: 1.25 (1 and 1/4) miles
- High School: 1.50 (1 and 1/2) miles
Distances are on a “door to door” basis, using the most direct route as determined by the board of education. Minimum distances may be increased or decreased by 0.1 mile in establishing areas eligible for transportation.
Out-of-District
We provide transportation to and from school to public school students attending special accredited schools in other districts, provided the distances meet with state and local requirements. Children attending private schools are eligible to receive transportation or reimbursement in accordance with state rules and regulations.
